Tony Robbins likes to say that he is “the why guy” and not a motivational speaker. In that regard, I can’t vouch for him. What he does do, from where I sit, is help you look inwardly even if you’re the type that thinks that kind of thing is a bunch of hoo-ha. In this speech, he discusses what makes us do what we do. It’s a very insightful speech and may help you understand your decision making process.
I was never a huge fan of self-help type speeches or presentations but I now see their worth. Robbins delivery is earnest, inspirational and down to earth. At the end of his speech, he talks about living like you were going to die. This struck a chord with me. I was reminded this morning that I thought the same thing thirty years ago after my brain tumor operation and subsequent radiation therapy. It sounded to me like Robbins was coming from the same place. After doing some research on Robbins this morning, I found that he had received the exact diagnosis as me fourteen years ago.
